Nowadays, it seems like every one is in such a hurry!  And, many times, being in a hurry can cause us to make very bad food choices.  It’s not that we WANT to make bad food choices, but when the only option you have is fast food and you’re already behind schedule, it almost seems like fast food is the only option – ALMOST!  Then, along came the wonderful, delicious smoothie!

Smoothies have saved the day for me more than you’ll ever know!!  When I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to make a juice or a meal, I’ll grab whatever fruit and veggie is laying around, toss it in the blender with a few ice cubes, and BAM! – I’m done in less than 5 minutes.  In my opinion, that’s quicker than most fast food lines nowadays!! Smoothies are a win-win option because they’re fast, easy, and nutritious!  Plus, all you need is a blender!

#1 – Vegan Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie

Surprisingly, this strawberry shortcake smoothie recipe is much more balanced in terms of nutrition than others I’ve seen, which is exactly why I wanted to post it.

In addition to the obvious ingredients, such as strawberries, it also includes flaxseeds and maca powder.  Flaxseeds will ensure sustained energy and fullness while the maca powder is amazing for mental clarity and endurance.  This smoothie would be a wonderful breakfast replacement!

Hello Beautiful! This smoothie recipe is gorgeous and would be fantastic for breakfast.  The combination of bananas and cinnamon makes my taste buds go crazy!

So simple with only 3 ingredients yet so satisfying.

Many of these smoothie recipes contain 4 ingredients or less, which mean you can whip up a quick smoothie in less than 5 minutes!  Smoothies are great for children as well – it’s a great way for them to get their daily intake or fruits and veggies.  Personally, I make my boyfriend smoothies regularly.  Otherwise, he’d probably never get his daily intake of produce!!

What I recommend: Purchase a few mason jars and prep the smoothies the night before for the entire family.  It’s much quicker that way!
